We are a German-Mexican family living in Cancun, Mexico! We met while working for one year in an exchange program, working and living in Walt Disney World in Florida, USA! Two years later we got married, had our first born, a boy named Angel Kristian, in March 2003 and a sister for Angel named Anlies Emily in March of 2004! Both children were born one the very same day but with one year of difference. :) After getting married we first lived in Germany but have relocated to Mexico about a year ago! We live in the southern part of the country, in a lively city called Cancun right in the beautiful carribean! The family language is a mix of English, Spanish and German, though the father speaks pure Spanish with the children and the mother pure German. The Au Pair would be asked to speak German with the children, if a native German speaker! The little ones are easy going, very smily children. The boy usually is a bit shy around new people but as soon as he opened his heart to someone is delivering lots of love and kisses! :) Neither of the children suffer of any illness, allergies or demand special attention. The boy attends a baby gym class twice a week for one hour for which the au pair would be asked to take care of the girl. At all other times the Mum will be at home, meaning the au pair will not have to take care of the children alone but to assist the mum with playing, reading, supervising, bathing, feeding, going for walks etc.! Once a week the au pair would be asked to babysit at night otherwise we are very flexible with the schedule and will try to arrange freetime for the au pair whenever needed (e.g. for travels etc.). Au pair girl will be part of the family with all rights and duties! We would look forward to have her stitting on the dinner table with us (not mandatory) and to accompany us the field trips, family reunions or travels! We have no pets, the mum of the house lives vegetarian which means that at least one meal of the day contains no meat or fish (but the au pair can cook something else for her if she likes), we are non smokers, only drink occasionally, we like to spend time in the garden or to explore the beautiful areas of Quintana Roo and Yucatan. In general we are a young, open minded family looking forward to a new family member.
We would accept a smoker, though NOT smoking inside of the house or with the children. Driving would be occasionally. The Au Pair can cook a full meal if she would like to but for the children it would mainly be to warm teh food the mum prepaired!The Au Pair will be a member of thefamily, has all rights and all duties as any other member. That will include occasional housework, shared with the Mum. She will have to take care of her own room!
