we are a danish/australian/dutch family living in luxembourg. we have two children, nico (4) and ines (2). our home languages are english & danish. i am currently at home but wish to return to work soon. nico recently started school and ines started nursery - both attend every weekday morning during school terms. we would be looking for babysitting 2-3 evenings a week. weekends should be free unless something special is happening. during school terms mornings after dropping the kids off should be free (unless the kids are too sick to go to school), however nico will need to be looked after all day during the school holidays. ines has developmental delays and attends therapies such as physical, speech & occupational therapies - which her carer might find really interesting to learn from. we are starting basic sign language ("sign-a-long") and picture communication ("pecs") with her, which nico is by far the best at so far! she has been diagnosed with angelman syndrome - i have pasted some links below so you can read a bit about it (there a quite a few - don't feel you have to read them all!) . she is currently at the stronger end of the range, so hopefully she will be quite high-achieving within her limitations. she is very easy going and quite a lot of fun to be around. i would like the carer to take over coordinating and following up all her therapies and other needs. although she is 2 she is just like looking after a 1 year old. we don't mind if it is live-in or live-out. if live-in, your room & bathroom are quite private as they are on a different floor from most of the other rooms. we have a large house with 7 bedrooms and a large garden located close to luxembourg city (15mins car or bus). ultimately the main thing is the children's carer should be independent, motivated and love spending time nurturing our children. if you already have some au pair or nanny experience and think you would enjoy spending time with our family, please send your cv and a cover letter by email. regards monique
During school terms the children are at school/creche during mornings, so outside of school holidays most mornings will be free after dropping the kids off. Work will be monday to friday.
