dear aupairs! weâ´d love to have you with us, please see below --------------------------------------------------------- the way our week is usually organized is as follows: my husband, kai, a business consultant is either usually away for the week or works until very late, so we organize everything around us. i myself have a parttime job as member of the board (head of purchasing department) in the leading tea company in germany so that we need to have someone reliable around us (of major importance). thus, we have the following help: claudia is our 50 y old german very nice and happy "nanny", who is not living with us comes every morning to help while i am at work and cynthia, our great and happy american ap, is in town learning german- 3 mornings a week). we all 3 share the job concerning the kids (annika goes to the kindergarten 5x/week plus 2 afternoon classes, and alina also has a "kindergarten" activity twice a week) and the housework (see below), thus the - frequently varying - schedule thus is very flexible to accomodate everybodyâ´s needs. -------------------------------------------- weâ´d love to integrate you into our every day family-life (e.g. meals, walks, weekends - just everything - however, only as much as youâ´d like to join us, if you donâ´t want to do something on your own) and we love to have fun together during our free time and our holidays . in the summer time we go to the south of france for at least 2 weeks (usually twice a year) to my parentâ´s appartment which is 150m above the mediterranean sea and in winter we go sking in austria for 10 days over xmas, plus a few other trips for a weekend or a week. ---------------------------------------- however, with the nice times and fun, the housework - which some people donâ´t like at all- has to be done as well. it is important to me, that once i come home from work, i have time for the kids and donâ´t have to start cleaning the house etc. housework is currently approx 10-12 hours/week cleaning (claudia does the ironing) and the other approx 23-26 hours itâ´s babysitting and playing time with the kids. would the housework be a problem for you? i am explaining this, in order to tell you what you have to expect upfront, so that we donâ´t have different expectations which would make us both unhappy, iâ´ll try to explain everything without "makeup"... --------------------------------------------------- we believe that usually everything can be discussed/negotiated/organized. you could talk to both, claudia and cynthia (our american aupair) if you like, however, claudiaâ´s english is very elementary. it might be that my husband and i would like to have a weekend or 2 for ourselves during the course of the year, so youâ´d then be alone with the 2 kids (maybe with claudiaâ´s help or one of our gandparentâ´s help) for these 2-4 days. thus, we are really looking for someone 100% reliable and mature, as well as positive and motivated. well, i prefer to be as open and as honest as possible and we would be glad if you find that the positions described would suit your needs and hopes... --------------------------------------------------- most important to us is, that you are a happy, honest and outgoing girl who does things with commitment and with fun, the rest can be sorted out. ----------------------------------------------- concerning your leisure time - which you might not always want to spend with us?? - , we live close do cologne approx. 400m from the rhine river, which invites you to go jogging, walking etc and close to a park and fields another approx. 500m in the other direction. down town is approx 15-20 min by tram.- tram station is 250 m from our door. we live in a very international area (with a lot of americans and japanese living near us) close by the rhine. so, youâ´d probably like it.... . and, you can be sure you wonâ´t have any language problems. sure not with us, nor our neighbours (americans, canadians, italian etc) but also, youâ´ll get along pretty well with english in the whole town. ---------------------------------------------------------------- our main interest certainly is to help our kids learn english in a natural way and not in a learning atmosphere, playing with you and maybe with some other american kids. we consider us a warmhearted family who like to have fun. we are very open with each other and wish to give our kids the warmest and best possible start into their lives (incl. "english as a second mother tongue"). annika (3y) and alina (1.5y) are very sweet, active and adorable girls. they are happy, love music, singing and dancing, books, painting, outdoors; sometimes alina is a bit thick-headed, but itâ´s not too bad for too long... we believe in moral values and want to raise our two happy and cheerful, kids in a loving and supporting atmosphere with a lot of space where they can explore themselves and the surroundings, however, all within a certain set of rules which have to be obeyed (time outs etc.). --------------------------------------------------------------- we practice a healthy and balanced lifestyle but are no fanatics about this. we currently pay 80€/week, plus own bed- and bathroom (room and board), plus health insurance, plus 5% of price of open return ticket paid every month by us (thus 60% of ticket price after a year, to be continued perpetually, as long as you stay). this compares to a usual (offically suggested) pay of 260€/month in other german families.-------------------------------------------- and, please tell us, what your expectations are, what youâ´d want to "get out of your stay" and what your major concerns could be. thanks a lot. ------------------------------------------------------- if youâ´ve been asking yourself who the taller girls is on one of the pics in the photo gallery, itâ´s anne, 10y old, kaiâ´s 1st daughter, who is really lovely. she spends every 2nd weekend with us. - hope to hear from you soon. thank you

hello au-pair, our little family is funny and with a lot of temperament.we live in a democratic way,where everyone can tell his opinion and speek about his problems.sometimes we have a lot of stress,so you must have good nerves and a lot of humour.the father is a black man ,but he does not live with us,but cares for the kids also,if its necessary.in our free time we do a lot of activities and i spare time with my kids alone.i `m looking for an independent and educated young woman who is willing to do the au-pairjob with real interesse. with very nice greetings anja b.
The Au-Pair have to manage the children,dog and house in the time I`m outside for working-mostly in the afternoon and evening.free time is mostly every weekend and with arrangement.
