German family with two sons (linus 10/2004 and Simon 11/2006) searches for an aupair. Tobias, 31, is a mathematician at the university of Bremen and Karolin, 29, teaches physics and economics to high-school students. we live in Bremen, a large city in the northern part of germany (0.5 million inhabitants). So far our sons are more quiet than others, they are cuddly and astonishingly well- behaved (at least when they are not tired). Linus is very helpfull and he seems quite intelligent. He speeks better than his age-group and so far he is not very jealous of his younger brother. But the "terrible twos" are not over yet, so we don't know what the future will bring. Especially about simons personality we can't say much, because he is yet so little. We try to treat our children fair and with respect. We incourage them to grow up independent and self-confident. because of Tobias many allergies we try to cook as much as we can from scratch. Concerning the Aupair (important): riding a bicycle is a major mean of transportation in Bremen and therefore a requirement to the aupair . A driver's licence is not necessary. Previous experience with toddlers goes without saying. The working hours have to be flexible, mainly in the morning. Saturdays and Sundays are free. Karolin will go back to work 02/2008, so there is enough time for a slow start!
The main task is to take care of Simon (1 year) until Karolin comes home from work. This includes playtime, singing, painting, handicrafts, going to the playground or to children's gymnastics etc. Lunch needs to be prepared for Simon. Depending on the opening hours of Linus' (3 year) preschool (starting in October) the aupair will take care of both children at the same time. Concerning the housework we expect assistance e.g. with clearing the children's room and from time to time with washing the laundry. We have a cleaning lady, so cleaning is usually no issue.
