I guess I would describe our family in one word as "busy!" We all have activities and work that keep us on the run. Our concern is that Alexander's needs are met during this time- so the position is very much linked to his activities- school, play dates, sports, and in the summer, swimming and having fun. The au pair is pretty free during the day because the children have school but Alexander does come home for lunch. Both parents have to travel for their work but rarely at the same time. Elisa has her own routine and could use some help and encouragement for her homework in the evening when she gets home. This position is best suited for someone who is creative, responsible and mature. We live in a beautiful area of France outside of Geneva and there is a lot to do- tennis, mountains, cycling, etc. There is a large English speaking community but it would be useful if the au pair was interested in learning French if she doesn't already speak it.
Our family needs help with the children, in particular Alexander. The position requires taking him to school, picking him up for lunch, and playing and creating activities for him. Occasional babysitting in the evening. We need someone with flexibility and maturity as we travel for our work and need someone we can really rely on. We have a cleaning woman as well but this positon would require some light housekeeping, especially for the children's affairs.
