our family is in two stages, with an 11 and 13 year old privately schooled french immersion, and a three month old daughter, who we are wanting to school in mandarin. the father is a native english speaker/canadian businessman and the mother is a costa rican native spanish speaker who is an artist and spends a lot of time at home. we have a pretty relaxed home and are looking for someone to provide help around the house as we also have a maid and a handiman, the main objective of the position is to assist raquel, our new baby, to learn mandarin as one of her first languages while she is growing up. this position could easily become very permanent for the right person.
It is important that the candidate speak "proper" mandarin and can read and write in Mandarin in order to provide this for our three month old daughter. Periferal duties include some general housekeeping and nanny sitting for the older children consisting mainly of being available and in the house when the parents are out.
