Nanny jobs in GIMLI, MANITOBA Canada:
Hello/bonjour! We are a young professional couple who
both work for the Federal government in Canada. We'd be
seeking a French au pair for the period August 2006-07. My
husband is a police officer with the Royal Canadian Mounted
Police, and I work for Canadian Heritage/patrimoine
canadien. While my husband is French Canadian and we are
both bilingual, we are seeking an Au Pair who will only speak
French with the children, so they will have a strong french
language ability. Our community does not have a french
school or bilingual instruction, so we want to make that a
childcare focus. However, since Canada is officially bilingual
French/Canadian, you will not be living in a language
vacuum, since there is french television and other people
around. Plus, if you speak English and/or want to learn
English, you will have plenty of opportunity. However, since
the Quebecois language in Canada is so anglicized, we
would like a French nanny to provide proper language
foundation for the children in the home environment. We
are a busy family and involved in many activities in the
community. Dakota is usually involved in at least one extra
activity along with playdates with friends, while I volunteer
with several clubs and organizations in town. In the
summer, we take advantage of the sun and surf, getting on
our boat whenever we can, while in the fall and winter, we
get in the spirit of Halloween and Christmas with decorations
and entertaining. We are both well educated and the love
of learning and reading, and exposing the children to many
cultures, beliefs and perspectives, is important to us. We
are not a religious family. We support diversity and
appreciate the arts, music, culture and people, and associate
with likeminded people on a social basis. We do not tolerate
illicit drug use of any kind. We are social drinkers. We
believe in open, respectful communication with our children
on sexuality and other issues, rather than hiding
information. We enjoy entertaining and hosting parties for
special occassions, but are also very structured during the
weekdays for school and balancing a busy work schedule.
We are a very loving household that encourages the children
to express their feelings, be encouraged to be independent,
but have firm rules for manners, respect for others and
proper conduct. However, truth be told, we laugh a lot.
Lucien and I make sure that our home is a place of love and
respect for everyone. It's our refuge from a busy week and
stressful jobs, so you won't hear any harsh words or get any
tension vibes here. J'éspere que vous voulez travailler ici
chez nous!
