filip is the Swede. He is an executive at a large international
company with its headquarters here in Brussels. He loves all
sports, traveling, cooking, eating and learning new things. His
job requires that he travel 2-3 nights a week but no weekends -
those he devotes to us, his family.
i’m Glory, the American and I’m currently finishing law school
and looking for a job. I like the outdoors, reading, eating and
traveling.
joy is our sweet and thoughtful oldest daughter. She is 6. She
loves dance, arts & crafts, dressing up, swimming and goodies.
kate is our bubbly five year old daughter. She loves to play, do
sports and have a good time.
john’s the sweetest boy ever. He will be two in August.
the ideal candidate for this position will be a positive and
active person. You need to be able to make plans yourself and
enjoy trying new things. We don’t ask that you are best friends
with the kids rather that you are firm and fair. However, it is
important that you can take the initiative to visit parks, plan
play dates, etc.

About the Position:
Filip’s travel
schedule varies from

will also fluctuate.
We will always let
you know what your
hours will be before
the week begins. The
total number of
hours we will ask
you to work a week
will vary but not
exceed 25
hours/week, your
duties will include:
• Picking up and
dropping off the
kids. Joy, John &
Kate will attend
school from 8:30 –
15:50 all weekdays
except Wednesday
when school ends at
noon. John goes to
school a full day on
Wednesday also. We
will wake them up
and get them ready
for school. Their
school is 5 km from
our house.
• Preparing lunch
boxes – Joy & Kate
bring their lunches
to school. You will
need to pack lunches
for them.
• Tidying up after
breakfast –Mornings
are busy. You will
need to tidy up the
kitchen after the
kids have gone off
to school.
• Caring for the
kids after school,
if they’re ill and
during school
vacation periods.
After picking up the
children you will be
responsible for them
until we return
between 6-7 pm. They
are not allowed to
watch television
more than two 30
minute periods per
week. You can go to
parks, suggest
activities, do
crafts, baking etc.
You will also take
them to their
activities including
play dates and
dance.
• Preparing an
evening meal. You
will be responsible
for planning and
preparing a simple,
healthy evening meal
for the children to
eat at about 17:30.
• Tidying up after
the children. You
will be responsible
for helping the
children pick up
after themselves and
washing up after the
evening meal. For
other cleaning we
have a cleaner who
comes once a week.
• Kids laundry.
Washing, folding and
returning the kids
clothes to their
rooms. You will be
expected to do this
all in one day, ie
no baskets of
laundry lying around
;) No ironing.
• Picking up the
groceries – one day
a week we ask you to
grocery shop off of
a list for the
family, over time
you will start to
prepare the list.
• Sorting the
recycling and taking
out the trash.
You will have
weeknights and
weekends free to
spend with us or
travel in Europe.
