Dear au-pair, Sending this letter to our future, but not yet known au-pair is as excisting as having a blind date saying one recognizes each other by the red rose in the jacket. To continue this unknown and abstract level, we must say we do not yet known our little girl... Cielo is a little – between 0 and 1 year old – Chinese girl who should arrive in July 2004 (adoption). We will take care of her during the first 2 months, however we should return working afterwards. During 2 or 3 days a week, Cielo will go to a creche to socialize with other children. On these days you might dress her and drive her to the creche. This allows her to follow her own ritm in the morning. In the evening we will try to get her back if our work schedule allows us to do so. As Cielo lived in a ‘home’ until now and did not enjoy the exclusive attention of somebody, you will be actively taking care of her the other 3 or 2 days a week. You might go to the swimming pool together, having a walk, playing together, reading stories... It allows her to learn and develop herself. We want you to support us in the education we want to give to Cielo, an education based upon honesty, openess and love in combination with respect to other people and respect of rules. We imagine you as an honest, mature and stable person capable to assure a fun and value based education for Cielo. Being Dutch mothertongue, we will be speaking Dutch to Cielo. As she will go to a French speaking school afterwards we want you to speak French with her and with us. Our French, English and German is perfect. During the weekend, we will of course be taking care of her, allowing you to have some fun. We truly wish you to have a nice time with us; we have a very pretty house in Florenville (Belgium). It will (hopefully) be finished the moment Cielo comes; currently we are living in Germany. The house is in a very rural environment, nature is really beautiful. Florenville, the nearest city, is at about 2 km and here you can find everything. We plan to give you a car as well to enlarge your mobility- hope you are a good driver...
