We are a close, loving Christian couple with a gorgeous daughter, Charlotte who is a bright, sunny child with a smile that will light up your day! We attend an evangelical church every Sunday as well as small groups during the week. We love music and films - we listen to a lot of music and watch DVDs at home. Jane had a very difficult pregnancy first time round. She needs assistance with Charlotte and help with some light housework and errands during a second pregnancy. Jane's whole family is nearby so the au pair is not required to care for Jane in any way.
Wollongong is a beautiful coastal town with great beaches to the East and beautiful mountains to the West. There is a large University here so the cultural life is great and there are cinemas, restaurants, cafes, etc. Close to Sydney (1.5 hours by train or 1 hour by car) it is easy to take day trips. We are really reasonable people and would work with the au pair to make sure things were fair and you have time off for enjoying your time in Australia. We can't offer a lot of money but can make up for it with the use of a car weeknights and weekends, internet access, mobile phone, free tickets to events where possible such as ballet at the Sydney Opera House, linking you with other great families to stay with when you travel, and making sure your stay in Australia is fun and memorable.
Helping Jane care for Charlotte and minding her while Jane rests - approx 4 hours per day, 5 days per week negotiable. Duties include playing with the baby, bathing her, feeding her, taking her to weekly activities such as swimming lessons, preparing food, light cleaning/tidying of the house. Days off on Saturday and Sunday and evenings with occasional evening or weekend babysit by negotiation - additional pay for extra hours by negotiation. Hours and days are flexible if you want to travel/sightsee etc.
